The Hook

You get a message or email claiming you’ve violated copyright terms, or that your account is about to be suspended. It’s built to feel urgent and official, using logos and formatting copied from the real platform.

The Build-Up

The message includes a link and a countdown, telling you to verify your account or resolve the violation immediately. The link leads to a login page that looks nearly identical to the real one, which makes it easy to type in your credentials without a second look.

The Steal

The page was never real. As soon as you log in, the scammer has your username and password and can access your account directly.

Always double-check the url to make sure the domain you think you’re logging into is the real one.
